5th Class Entrepreneurs!

Monday Jan 19th saw the CBS Primary School in Dundalk welcome a very special visitor as Patrick Joy of Dunleer based company SureTank visited the school to pass on his experiences of entrepreneurship. Patrick’s story is a very successful one as he has developed SureTank from 15 employees based in Dundalk in 1995 to 800 workers in 7 factories worldwide in 2015. SureTank are the co-ordinators of the Junior Entrepreneur Project in Dundalk and both 5th classes have budding businesses in the pipeline and hope to put the information they received from the 2013 EY Entrepreneur of the Year to good use. Ms Sheridan’s class are hoping to make a successful business by selling Dundalk Guidebooks- full of useful information for tourists and native Dundalk dwellers alike. These are to be accompanied by personalised bookmarks. While Mr. O’Connor’s class are developing a series of comic books to sell to children who can turn them into their own creations by colouring and adding to the comics. Both classes hope to have a Showcase within the school in the coming weeks to display, and hopefully sell, their wares!image_1

Creative fun in the library

Ms. Sheridan’s 5th class attended an Environmental talk in Dundalk Library today. Sarah, from the Rediscovery Centre in Dublin, gave a very informed presentation about waste management. Using only recycled materials, the children then created some creative Christmas decorations.

Halloween Fun

C.B.S. children enjoyed a fantastic Halloween celebration today. Lots of drama and music followed by a parade around the school . A mystery judge selected our lucky fancy dress winners. Have a look through our photos. Happy Halloween to all!
